Apply – Undergraduate

​​To apply in Arab Open University the following documents are required: 

• The application number you received after completing the admission process online.
• Three personal photos.
• Copy of Valid Passport
• Copy of personal identification card.
• Valid residence (for non-Bahrainis).
• Admission fees (BD 28).
• Medical report from the Health Center.

• Accredited official secondary school certificate (the secondary school certificate and transcript of all semesters issued by the Examination Directorate in the Ministry of Education (ensuring that the name on the certificates matches exactly the name in the passport) taking into consideration the following:

1. If you graduated from a private school in Bahrain: you should submit the certificate and transcript of all semesters attested by the Directorate of Private Education in the Ministry of Education along with an equalization letter issued by them.​
2. If you graduated from a government school in GCC countries: you should submit the certificate and transcript of all semesters attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of origin, the country’s embassy in Bahrain, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bahrain.
3. If you graduated from a private school in GCC countries: You should refer to the university’s registration department to receive a letter requesting to equalized your secondary school certificate, then you need to take this letter along with your original certificate and transcript of all semesters (which should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of origin, the country’s embassy in Bahrain, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bahrain) to the Directorate of Examination in the Ministry of Education in order to receive attestation of the secondary certificate.

4. If you graduated from other Arab countries or Non-Arab countries: You should refer to the university’s registration department to receive a letter requesting to equalized your secondary school certificate, then you need to take this letter along with your original certificate and transcript of all semesters (which should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of origin, the country’s embassy in Bahrain, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bahrain) to the Credentials Evaluation Section in the Ministry of Education in Bahrain in order to receive attestation of the secondary certificate.


If you wish to transfer courses from another university:
 Please submit the graduation certificate or withdrawal letter from the previous university along with the transcript and courses descriptions, taking into consideration the following:
If the certificate is issued from a private university in Bahrain: please submit a copy of the graduation certificate or withdrawal letter from the previous university along with the transcript attested by the Higher Education Council in Bahrain.
If the certificate is not issued from Bahrain (GCC Countries): the documents should be attested by the higher education council in the country of origin, the country’s embassy in Bahrain, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bahrain.
If the certificate is not issued from Bahrain (other Arab countries or non-Arab countries): the documents should be attested by the higher education council in the in the country of origin, country’s embassy in Bahrain, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bahrain with an equivalence letter issued by the ministry of education in Bahrain.

To be admitted in any Bachelor’s program the student should fulfill the following conditions:
– Obtain a general secondary school certificate or equivalent, which must be approved by the Ministry of Education in Bahrain.​
​- Completing the English Placement Test of Arab Open University or submitting internationally accredited English language examination results, if available. The minimum scores required for the internationally accredited English language examination are as follows:

* TOFEL:   Paper based 477
                                        Computer based 153
​                                        Internet based 53
* IELTS: 4.5
​Note that the scores for these tests are expired in 2 years. Expired scores cannot be accepted.
​-    If the student doe​sn’t have any of the above mentioned test scores, s/he will have to take the English placement test provided by AOU and must get a good score to be admitted in the chosen program directly. Otherwise, students will have to take the English Orientation course to improve their language proficiency before starting the program.
The admission application will be cancelled in the following conditions:
1. Violation of any of the admission’s terms and conditions.
2. If the accepted student did not r​egister any course during his/her first semester in the university.

Payment of Fees:
• Can be done by contacting the Finance department

• Installments are not allowed during the first semester of admission.
